This one was the first mini I bought from Hasslefree other than Liberty, which is really the reason Kev is well known now (that and Jenova). Well, I just dearly adored this one and tried out some black primer on her. I learned one thing: Never use Armory primer. It totally coated her face with thick gobs that obscured all the detail. Well, I shelved this half-painted abomination for a while. On a slight tangent, since Hasslefree sorta screwed up the second order I made with them, which included the kneeling version of this mini. Thus, Sally White sent me the "Tiriel Package" which included this mini and the kneeling one.
Well, I decided to paint her since I haven't painted crap for Hasslefree and they're really cool minis. So I took her into the shop today (9/13/04) and started to re-do her. Having finished all but the skin and hair, I realized to my horror that I hadn't fixed the crappy primer mess on the face. So, after an hour of patient acetone dipping so as to only get the head and not mess up the rest of the paint, I managed to scrape off enough primer that I could get a clean start. Although the hair still looks kinda funky, I like what I did with her. The eyes were easy, although I was a bit nervous about painting closed eyes. Note the cross pattern with the white paint on her armor. I would have painted her with a star of David or one of them Muslim crescents, but she just lends herself to the cross.
